What is branding?

Branding is one of the most important aspects of any business, large or small, retail or B2B (business to business). An effective brand strategy gives you a major edge in increasingly competitive markets.
 
Building a brand will have three dramatic effects on your selling:
  1. Word of mouth for a branded service spreads easier and further because the business name can be remembered
  2. A brand converts more enquiries because the prospect is less fearful as they feel they "know" the brand

First step: design a logo

According to Wikipedia, a wordmark, word mark or logotype is usually a distinct text-only typographic treatment of the name of a company, institution, or product name used for purposes of identification and branding. The organisation name is incorporated as a simple graphic treatment to create a clear, visually memorable identity. The representation of the word becomes a visual symbol of the organisation or product.

In summary, you can't have any of the other cool parts of a brand, or start establishing a relationship with your customers (and potential customers) without a logo. You won't be able to tell your brand story without this first, critical asset which, over time will become synonymous with your values, your people and your services or products. It makes sense then, to make your logo unique to these things, and to put some serious thought into it. What you can expect

We supply our client's with logos in the following formats, on completion of the design phase:

  1. Vector renditions of the various logo versions (.ai, .eps, .svg)
  2. High-resolution raster versions of the logos (.jpg, .tiff, .pdf, .png)
  3. Colour breakdown in Pantone, CMYK, RGB and Hex values
  4. Typeface choices for print and web

But what exactly does “branding” mean? How does it affect a small business like yours?

Simply put, your brand is your promise to your customer. It tells them what they can expect from your products and services, and it differentiates your offering from your competitors’. Your brand is derived from who you are, who you want to be and who people perceive you to be.

Are you the innovative maverick in your industry? Or the experienced, reliable one? Is your product the high-cost, high-quality option, or the low-cost, high-value option? You can’t be both, and you can’t be all things to all people. Who you are should be based to some extent on who your target customers want and need you to be.

RB Logistics was a huge (pardon the pun), but interesting project to work on. We created everything from the logo and corporate identity, to a publication ad and their truck branding.

RB Logistics specialise in part-load consolidations nationwide, warehousing and local distribution, transport, sea freight import & export packing/unpacking.

BlackStone Capital

This project started with a 2-hour strategy session, moving on to full brand development for the client. Our brief was to keep it clean, crisp and clever, with strong emphasis on the concept of architectural strength. We created a logo, business cards, letterheads, and email signatures.
